Eco-friendly solutions

In 2022, we switched our plastic guestroom key cards to natural wooden key cards, made from a durable and sustainable material. This saw the removal of 25,000 plastic key cards which were used annually in the hotel. Also recently, the hotel’s cooling system's chiller was replaced with a more environmentally friendly system. This state-of-the-art cooling system, situated on the rooftop, represents a remarkable example of modern engineering. It boasts exceptional energy efficiency, consuming significantly fewer kilowatt-hours, which not only contributes to a more environmentally friendly operation but also results in cost savings.

Every month, in the iconic New York Café, we host literature lessons for students, celebrating the intersection of education and culture in a historic and inspiring setting. Also we host 'Art Box' events catered to Hungarians passionate about literature and writing. These gatherings foster creativity, networking, and the sharing of literary perspectives in a supportive community setting. Every year, we host an ‘Orphan's Christmas’ at the New York Café, providing a full lunch for children in need. This gesture embodies our commitment to community outreach and spreading joy during the festive season.

Nam Jai" is a beloved part of the Anantara journey. Upon arrival to our hotels, resorts and spas worldwide, we offer our guests a cup of refreshing drink, reflecting the Thai kindness of "water from the heart". This brief ritual is where our care for you begins. The wellbeing of visitors who enter our door is a key in traditional Hungarian hospitality as well. Therefore, we wanted to make this encounter even more personal and memorable. Upon check-in to Anantara New York Palace Budapest Hotel, your refreshment is served in a Cup of the Palace, a bespoke porcelain cup designed and hand crafted by Julia Nema, a leading ceramic artist and designer in Hungary. Julia Nema has a ceramics studio in the country and region, using a high-temperature woodfired kiln to produce porcelain and stoneware products. An important part of Juliet's plates is that she uses materials that she collects in nature. The ash in the oven creates always a different pattern on the glaze, which makes each plate completely unique and inimitable.

All our eggs, fish, and slow-grown chicken come from certified sustainable sources. We ensure responsible sourcing and promote environmental and ethical food consumption practices. The Poet Bar proudly serves handcrafted beer sourced from the Archabbey of Pannonhalma, a recognised UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here we celebrate our country's unique heritage and support traditional brewing methods.
