My husband and I had an unforgettable experience at Anantara Dhigu during our babymoon in the Maldives. We initially stayed four nights at Anantara Veli but enjoyed our holiday so much that we extended it for another three nights at Dhigu. The beautiful villas, breathtaking surroundings, relaxed atmosphere, and wonderful hospitality made it the perfect continuation of our trip. A Special Thank You to Zakaria We would particularly like to recognize Zakaria, our villa host, who made our stay incredibly smooth and enjoyable. He was approachable, dependable, and always happy to assist, whether helping us settle in, answering our questions, or making arrangements. What stood out was his positive attitude and the effortless way he ensured everything was taken care of without ever being intrusive. We truly appreciated his thoughtfulness and dedication. Aqua Bar – A Highlight of Our Stay Aqua Bar quickly became our favorite lunch spot, thanks to its beautiful setting, relaxed atmosphere, and fantastic service. A special thank you to Adam and Reppe, whose cheerful personalities, attentiveness, and genuine friendliness made every visit memorable. We also want to recognize the entire Aqua Bar team, as everyone we interacted with was equally welcoming and helpful. Although we may not remember every name, we certainly remember the wonderful hospitality and wouldn't want anyone's efforts to go unrecognized. Dining and Special Care During Our Babymoon We explored all the restaurants across both resorts, and Fushi Café was our favorite for breakfast, with its excellent selection, lovely atmosphere, and welcoming service. Being pregnant, I especially appreciated the extra care shown by the team in ensuring my comfort and accommodating my dietary requirements. Their thoughtful attention gave us peace of mind and allowed my husband and me to fully relax and enjoy our babymoon. Overall Experience Beyond the stunning beaches and beautiful villas, what truly made Anantara Dhigu special was its people. The hospitality felt genuine, personal, and thoughtful, making our stay particularly memorable. A heartfelt thank you to Zakaria, Adam, Reppe, and the entire Anantara Dhigu team for making our babymoon so wonderful. We would wholeheartedly recommend the resort and would love to return, perhaps next time with our little one!

When we think of the Maldives, we picture glamour: turquoise lagoons, overwater villas and picture-perfect sunsets. Anantara Dhigu has all of that. But what stays with you long after you leave is not the scenery. It is the people. The staff here are ordinary people with extraordinary hearts, and their warmth and generosity make every single day of your stay wonderful. I want to take the time to thank them properly, by name, because hospitality is not an easy profession. The hours are long, guests can be demanding, and yet this team delivers with grace, every day. Front Office – Ms Petra Ms Petra leads the front office with real dedication. She makes herself available for every guest’s request and is always thinking about guests’ comfort. Nothing is ever too much trouble, and her calm, reassuring presence sets the tone for the whole resort. The Culinary Team – Chef Kebir Houssein, Chef Tanunu and Chef Krishan The food is of exceptional quality. Chef Kebir Houssein, Chef Tanunu and Chef Krishan make sure that every request, and every type of international cuisine, is delivered to perfection. Whatever you ask for, it arrives as if it were the dish they had been waiting all day to cook for you. Fushi Café – led by Mr Wacho Under Mr Wacho’s leadership, Mr Hanu, Ms Ayumsha, Ms Fida, Mr Shazim and Mr Mohammed to name a few ensure every guest is looked after superbly, whether you are a returning guest or new to the resort. The team are gentle yet remarkably quick on their feet. They capture your preferences on the first day and then deliver them perfectly every morning without needing to be reminded. Special mention to Mr Hanu, whose conversations about fishing and the birds native to the island were a highlight of our breakfasts. He doesn’t just serve breakfast; he makes you feel informed, engaged and genuinely welcome. Pool Bar – Ramu Mr Ramu remembers you every time and goes out of his way to make you comfortable. He runs the pool exceptionally well and is attentive without ever being intrusive. As with all the staff, he is wonderfully gentle and patient with young children. Ms Disini has a sweet gentle word for each guests, hospitality with kindness and a huge smile. Sea.Fire.Salt. & Picnic Island – Priyantha Mr Priyantha runs Sea.Fire.Salt. in an exemplary manner. We did miss his personal touches at Fushi Café compared with last year, but he is clearly making his mark at Sea.Fire.Salt. and on Picnic Island, and both are better for it. Mixologist – Don Mr Don, the cocktail expert at the top of Sea.Fire.Salt., is a true craftsman. His recommendations are spot on, and the care and pride he takes in presenting each drink is exceptional. Room Host – Ibrahim Mr Ibrahim kept our room immaculate: fresh towels, crisp clean linen and water bottles always replenished. No request was ever too big for him. Butler – Manzi A very special thank you to Mr Manzi, our host. He was perfect: never intrusive, always gentle, and every time we had a request he made it happen as if by magic. He is a well-natured young man with exceptional manners who truly understands how to look after his guests. He has a bright future in this industry. Behind the Scenes – Eli, Resident Marine Biologist We had the privilege of a behind-the-scenes tour with Mr Eli, the resident marine biologist. We were shown the power plant, the solar installation and fuel systems, and learnt that the staff café is around 70% fuelled by biogas produced from the resort’s own waste. We were also shown the staff accommodation and facilities. It is rare to see staff so genuinely happy and so well looked after. The team at Anantara are clearly grateful to their management for providing excellent recreation facilities, and it shows in how they treat guests. Kids’ Club – Mohammed The kids’ club is fabulous, run by Mr Mohammed, a gentle giant with a heart of gold. He is efficient, an absolute gem, and genuinely wants every child to have a wonderful holiday, which means parents can relax and enjoy some well-earned “me time”. Gym – Mr Miduan The gym has all the equipment you need, and Mr Miduan is on hand for specialist advice, personal training, boxing and stretching classes to improve mobility. His knowledge, and the personal care he gives each client, are outstanding. Anantara Spa – Ms Sheila, Ms Kaew and Ms Niyma The spa, led by Ms Sheila, is exceptional. Whether we chose a Thai massage, a relaxing massage or deep tissue, the therapists had truly magic hands. A special thank you to Ms Kaew and Ms Niyma. Anantara Naladhu Breakfast – Mr Aslam and Ms Rashmina We had the pleasure of breakfast at Anantara Naladhu, hosted by Mr Aslam: highly professional, impeccably mannered and a wonderful host. Ms Rashmina was equally professional and knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about food and beverage. A Final Thought Some parts of the rooms at Anantara Dhigu are showing their age, but honestly, it doesn’t matter. The staff make it a special place, and they are the reason we will keep coming back. Finally, congratulations to Dillip Rajakarier, Group CEO of Minor International and CEO of Minor Hotels, on being named Asia’s Best CEO at the 2026 Asian Excellence Awards. Since joining Minor Hotels in 2007, he has led its growth from a small Southeast Asian portfolio into one of the world’s leading hospitality groups, guided the company through the pandemic to record results, and has twice been named “Outstanding CEO” by Thailand’s Investment Analysts Association. His nearly two decades of dedication to the Minor brand are reflected in the culture we experienced on the island: when leadership looks after its people, its people look after the guests. Thank you to every member of the Anantara Dhigu team. You made our holiday unforgettable. #AnantaraDhigu #Anantara #MinorHotels #Maldives #MaldivesResort #LuxuryTravel #FamilyTravel #SustainableTourism #HospitalityHeroes #ThankYouStaff #TripAdvisor

Since the villa host handled all the reservations from the restaurant to the marine activities, I was able to enjoy dining and experiences without any stress.
