Executive Fine Dining Chef Chaminda Pathirana

Born in Sri Lanka, Chef Chaminda returns to his homeland from our Anantara sister properties in the Maldives. He honed his culinary skills in the Maldives and Dubai for almost two decades at concept restaurants in luxury resorts such as Jumeirah, Conrad and Shangri-La before becoming a part of the Anantara family in 2015. Having recently joined Anantara Peace Haven in 2018, Chef Chaminda is already taking our highly acclaimed dining experiences to a whole new level of discovery with his deft interpretations in global cuisine. 

Versatile in Thai, Japanese, Italian, grill and fine dining cuisine, Chef Chaminda’s journey to chefdom began with his uncle’s catering business. Observing the preparations and the satisfaction from diners sparked a yearning to invoke the same delight. Notable achievements since pursuing his dreams included a dinner collaboration with Michelin-starred Chef Michel Roux, an exclusive culinary journey with Chef Laurent Pourcel, and garnering a silver medal at the Culinary Guild Live Cooking Competition Dubai. Easy-going with an ever-present smile, he loves food-related programmes and magazines, playing cricket and table tennis.
