Five star resort comforts for the ultimate Maldives getaway.
Explore the lagoon together. Set sail with your very own captain and find a deserted island. Challenge each other to beach games on some of the world’s most beautiful sands. Anantara’s Maldives five star resorts invite you to write your own chapter of adventure.
Step into the air-conditioned comfort of our fitness centre, and exercise alone or with a personal trainer. Floor-to-ceiling windows provide an inspiring view as you run, step or lift.
Yoga & Meditation
Whether a yoga beginner or an expert, our professional instructors are able to guide you through lessons either in a group or private session. Clear your mind with gentle stretching and guided meditation sessions on the beach to start your day.
Water Skiing, Wake & Kneeboarding
Rip through the waves with some help from our twins, WET and WILD. This pair of Gulfcraft Swan 20 speedboats will propel you swiftly across the lagoon with their powerful 150-horsepower engines.
Ride gentle swells or the hollowest waves. In association with Tropicsurf, we accommodate all ability levels, from those looking to take their first tentative steps to dedicated pros.
Surf year-round and expect the season’s best waves between April to October.
Windsurfing & Kitesurfing
Windsurfing combines elements of surfing and sailing for the perfect match of energy and tranquillity, while kitesurfing provides the opportunity for daredevil jumps and turns.
Paddleboarding & Kayaking
Stand-up paddleboards and glass-bottomed kayaks provide the perfect way to explore our calm lagoon. No experience is required, and these easy workouts are great for muscle tone and core strength.
Cruise alongside majestic dolphins as they leap into the mist-filled air. We are lucky enough to have a large pod of spinner dolphins – the most acrobatic variety – living right on our doorstep.
Step aboard a yacht or traditional Maldivian dhoni for a private journey across the waters. Explore deserted coves, stop for tea on a local island, or head to the capital to take in the sights and sounds.
Set off aboard one of our big-game fishing boats, Island Lure and Fishermen’s Tales. With the help of our guides – and a little luck – the bounty of the Indian Ocean can be yours. Go to battle with a magnificent sailfish, wahoo, tuna, mahi mahi or giant trevally. Try your hand at traditional Maldivian line-fishing, heading out at sunset on a dhoni.
Gulhifushi Day Island
Kayak or take a boat to our private picnic island, Gulhifushi. If you wish, your family can spend the whole day swimming, snorkelling, kite flying, playing beach games and finishing up with a barbecue on the beach.
For your ease, you will find on-isle restrooms and facilities.
Explore the turquoise lagoon and the colourful reef life surrounding the resort. From August to December, seize the opportunity to dance with manta rays. Whale sharks play year-round near Ari Atoll, and come very close to the surface.
In the Maldives, you’ll find some of the most beautiful sights are below the surface. Admire stunning sea fans, colourful coral, schools of fusiliers, sea turtles, and even the occasional reef shark or spotted eagle ray.
Dive local reefs or venture further ashore with half- and full-day safaris by speedboat. For enthusiasts with no prior diving experience, the Discover programme entails a basic introduction to diving, with theory, shallow water training in the lagoon, and a dive of up to 12 m around our house reef with a fully qualified instructor.
Begin a lifetime of exploration with Open Water certification. Dive confidently to a depth of 18 m to explore the brilliant reef life below.
More advanced divers can enrol in Advanced, Rescue or Dive Master courses, private or group, as well as a number of specialities such as Photography, PPB, Drift, Enriched Air and Wreck. We also offer certification for juniors over ten years old.
At the Dhoni Club, children find an exciting indoor and outdoor playspace. To explore: a climbing wall, a treehouse, two dhoni boats packed with fun, and changing daily themes. Experiences include days as a pirate, young chef sessions, crab hunts, and local art immersions from palm weaving to the afternoon energy of Maldivian dance time.
The Dhoni Club is open 9.00 am – 6.00 pm for children 3 to 12 years old. Babysitters are available for children 3 months and above and should be booked 24 hours in advance.
