History of Old and New – Wadi Bani Habib Village
Start in the new modern village and meander down a stone staircase to abandoned homes in the base of the wadi. Deserted over 40 years ago due to the challenge of bringing in supplies, the newer village still relies on the wadi that provides water for the ‘falaj’ irrigation system. Baked mud, wood and stone houses blend gently into the environment. See the hidden crops in use by the locals and the lush produce that arises out of this arid landscape.
