Chocolate-Inspired Afternoon Tea at Anantara Chiang Mai Resort

Culinary
Enjoy a luxurious afternoon tea experience like no other at Anantara Chiang Mai Resort, located on the banks of the Mae Ping River. This spring, the resort has teamed up with award-winning local chocolatiers Siamaya to create a new, chocolate-inspired afternoon tea menu that promises to delight the senses.

A Sweet Collaboration

The tradition of afternoon tea is given a decadent twist at The Verandah at 1921 House, where guests can unwind in the shade of a century-old mansion, once the British consulate. Here, classic elegance meets modern indulgence with three tiers of tempting treats served on exquisite Wedgwood china. The menu, crafted by Director of Food, Beverage and Culinary David Eldridge, features classic finger sandwiches, freshly baked scones with Devonshire clotted cream and tropical preserves, and an array of sinful sweet bites.

Siamaya, Chiang Mai’s celebrated chocolate maker, brings its sustainably sourced, organic cacao beans to the table. Known for their commitment to fair trade and eco-friendly practices, Siamaya’s chocolate adds a rich, local flavour to the afternoon tea experience. Neil Ransom, Founder and CEO of Siamaya Chocolate, expresses his excitement: “We are thrilled Anantara Chiang Mai Resort is using our chocolates for their afternoon tea. Siamaya produces delicious chocolate with sustainably sourced cacao and we appreciate Anantara’s commitment to supporting local producers like us.”

Prepare to be enchanted by the strawberry and single-origin white chocolate cake, sticky toffee pudding, and a chocolate, coconut, and yuzu éclair featuring Siamaya’s rich coconut milk dark chocolate. Each bite is a testament to the culinary creativity and local ingredients that make this afternoon tea a must-try.

The new seasonal afternoon tea menu is available daily from 2 pm to 5 pm at The Verandah at 1921 House. For more information and reservations, click here.
