Wherever we go, we aim to preserve and nurture our host communities and environments, and operate in a way that is beneficial to the people who live there, and sustainable for generations of residents and travellers still to come.

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

Anantara works tirelessly to preserve the amazing destinations that we call home. Hand in hand with guests, our teams contribute to social and environmental projects in each country where we operate. We support our communities through grassroots involvement, as well as matching guest donations to organisations that provide vital services, such as child welfare and wildlife protection.

At every hotel and resort, sustainable tourism drives our choices. The ways we conserve ecological resources, the positive impacts we can have on our communities, and the ways we can ensure sustainable growth are woven into each property's operations.


OUR COMMITMENT

Water and Energy Conservation
We minimise water consumption in all areas of our hotels through the combined efforts of guests and partners. We also strive to reduce energy consumption each year by at least 10%. 
 
Waste Management
We reduce, reuse and recycle solid waste, implementing composting programmes, and purchasing products that are durable, repairable and able to be recycled.
 
Social Culture
We work with local communities as part of our social involvement programme, offering opportunities for local artisans and performers within our hotels. We also promote local cultural awareness amongst our guests, and integrate indigenous culture into everyday experiences. Wherever possible we also employ and empower members from local communities, and source environmentally and culturally sustainable products and services. 
 
Green Growth
To date, 36 Anantara properties have been awarded Green Growth certification, based on a set of internationally recognised hotel-industry standards. Awards received by Anantara recognise excellence in multiple areas, including human rights, child protection, employee protection, community development, environmental stewardship, and tourism ethics and sustainability.
