La Veranda Chef

José Carlos Delgado

José Carlos Delgado Serrano's career is a testimony to his dedication and passion for gastronomy. The new chef at Anantara Villa Padierna's star restaurant, La Veranda, combines traditional recipes from the last 20 years with a modern and very personal touch.

Born in Jaén in 1990, José Carlos began his culinary career at the age of 20, training as a Restaurant and Bar Hospitality Technician at Gambrinus Hospitality School in his hometown. Specialising in cooking, he demonstrated his skills in restaurants such as the Parador de Jaén, La Alquería (Hacienda Benazuza), and later at various Spanish restaurants, including Calima by Dani García.

The young chef’s blossoming career led him to the United Kingdom, where he worked as a cook at Toro Contento and then as Head Chef at several renowned restaurants, including Hotel Can Miquel on the Costa Brava, Casa Marcial in Asturias, Tapas Brindisa in London’s Soho and Eneko, also in London.

In May 2017, José Carlos returned to Spain to join the team at the Marbella Club Golf Hotel, where he served as Chef de Partie until January 2018. His outstanding performance and constant pursuit of excellence have now led him to take the helm at La Veranda at Anantara Villa Padierna, where he invites guests and visitors to embark on an unforgettable culinary journey.
