Preserving luxury hospitality for the future
Leading the way in sustainability across luxury resorts in Dhofar, Al Baleed Resort Salalah by Anantara is driven by a commitment to social, cultural and environmental conservation. Our resort has been designed in consideration of nature and we strive to reduce waste and manage our resources carefully.
Water and Energy

Energy Conservation
By installing energy-efficient lighting throughout the resort and keeping lights off wherever necessary, we conserve energy. We invest in the most energy-efficient equipment available and ensure that all appliances are switched off when not in use.

Swimming Pools
Our resort pools are treated with a salt pool chlorinated system that requires less chemicals and discards less water than normal pool cleaning processes.

Water Conservation
Different water supplies – mains, recycles and rainwater – are used to minimise water consumption. Wastewater is processed in an onsite sewerage plant in a bio system that recycles grey and black water for irrigation.
Recycling and Waste Reduction

Guest Materials
Resort key cards, pens and pencils supplied to guests are made with environmentally friendly materials.

Single Use Plastic
Glass bottles are in use throughout the resort, along with biodegradable straws. We aim for zero single use plastics in our daily operations.

Sustainable Initiatives
Hand in hand with our guests, we support and contribute to social and environmental projects in the community. We match guest donations to organisations that provide child welfare and wildlife protection and our team members join at a grassroots level.

Local Talent
We give special consideration to employing and empowering Omani people in line with our social sustainability efforts. We build relationships within the community.

Resources

Al Baleed Vegetable Farm
Our farm-to-table philosophy is about more than just eating healthy food. We grow our own vegetables such as radish, cucumber, tomatoes, and spinach in the Al Baleed Vegetable Garden and source others from the Royal Razat Farm in Salalah. Learn more about our farm-to-table concept from our culinary team.

Local Suppliers
Wherever possible, the ingredients and products we use are sourced from local and Omani suppliers. Frankincense and sea salt used at Anantara Spa is for instance from the surrounding area, as well as the spices used in our Spice Spoons cooking class.

Spice Garden
Every day our chefs collect fresh ingredients and herbs for their dishes. We grow different herbs in our Mekong Spice Garden. Enjoy the refreshing aroma of mint, lemongrass and basil that is used for our Mekong signature dishes such as Tom Yum and Vietnamese Spring Rolls.
