Anantara Layan Phuket Resort has embarked on a comprehensive sustainability journey, marked by the complete elimination of electric boilers in favor of 100% heat pump utilization, the transition of all pump pressure switch systems to VSD systems, and the replacement of low-performance AC units with VRV systems in all outlets and public areas. LED lighting is used throughout the resort.

In all new construction endeavors, we exclusively embrace VRV technology. To further reduce our ecological footprint, we've adopted photo switch systems for all landscape lighting, ensuring that energy is conserved and only used when necessary.

All Anantara properties immerse themselves in local initiatives that give back to the community and the environment, thereby enhancing the social and environmental surroundings of each destination.

The 'Dollars for Deeds' program provides our guests with the opportunity to contribute financially to a hand-picked selection of initiatives that impact the environment, sustainability, and the community. At Anantara Layan Phuket Resort, funds from the 'Dollars for Deeds' program are dispersed equally among three chosen and vetted causes:

Sea Shell And Herbal Therapy (90 minutes):
Take a relaxing breath as you tune into the sound and energy of the sea with a shell held close to your ear. Unwind with gentle, warm hand strokes and acupressure to induce deep relaxation. Heated sea shells enhance your experience, releasing aches and pains, while calcium ions help firm and regenerate your skin. A heated herbal compress improves circulation, soothes muscle tension, and alleviates joint stiffness, offering a wealth of remedial benefits. Emerge feeling a serene sense of calm and grounding.

Andaman Sea Healing Journey (120 minutes):
Indulge in Anantara Spa's exclusive pearl and sand treatment, leaving your skin smooth, purified, and rejuvenated. The 2-hour journey begins with a pearl body scrub to gently remove dead skin cells and promote glowing skin. This is followed by a heated sand poultice body massage, using carefully selected herbal oils to soothe muscle tension and stiffness.

Anantara Layan Phuket Resort is proud to stand with the Mai Khao Marine Turtle Foundation in their mission to conserve sea turtles. Our support goes beyond fundraising. Each year, we organize a special sea turtle release, raising awareness and educating both our staff and guests on the importance of sea turtle conservation.

Our commitment extends to the preservation of their natural habitat. We maintain a clean and peaceful beach environment, ensuring it remains pristine for mother sea turtles that come to lay their eggs. To safeguard our reef and the marine life that calls it home, we've limited water sports activities. This approach ensures the good health of our underwater ecosystems and the safety of these magnificent creatures.

We are delighted to announce that, since October 1, 2018, plastic straws have been officially eliminated from our operations. Our commitment to a plastic-straw-free environment aligns with ongoing efforts to reduce plastic waste and preserve the natural beauty that surrounds us. This initiative is one of many steps taken to promote eco-conscious practices. We express gratitude to our guests and team members for their support and cooperation in making Anantara Layan Phuket Resort a more environmentally responsible destination. Together, we pave the way for a greener, more sustainable future.

We are committed to reducing food waste, and this commitment begins with our staff. We encourage our team to truly value food and raise awareness about the importance of waste minimization. One creative approach involves inspiring our staff to 'finish their meal,' promoting mindfulness in portion sizes and discouraging excess, significantly reducing food waste. Furthermore, our food waste management campaign advocates transforming food waste into high-quality organic fertilizer. This fertilizer is then supplied to our farm and herb garden, contributing to a reduced reliance on agrochemicals.

In both guestrooms and back-of-house operations, we promote recycling. Since 2018, 2-compartment recycling bins have been installed in all villas to encourage guest participation. Back of house, we conduct an intensive recycling program with waste separation bins to ensure proper management of recyclables, including paper and carton board, glass bottles, plastic bottles, aluminum/metal, and cooking oil.
