NATURE CONSERVATION

Jalak Bali Conservation at Anantara Ubud Bali Resort

We have partnered with the Begawan Foundation to protect the critically endangered Bali starling, known locally as Jalak Bali and a symbol of the island’s unique beauty. Proceeds from our Dollars for Deeds initiative, with every dollar donated by guests matched by us, go to the foundation’s breeding programme, with starlings then released into the wild.

Trigona Honey Conservation at Anantara Ubud Bali Resort

The Trigona bee, which produces delicious tasting honey, is also stingless and therefore the perfect species to breed in populated areas. Visit a local bee farm to learn all about sustainable beekeeping and the critical role bees play in nature. You can even harvest the honey yourself.

Composting Programme at Anantara Ubud Bali Resort

We compost all natural and food waste to minimise landfill, as well as the carbon footprint involved in transporting waste. This compost is then used as fertiliser across our grounds, a natural way to nurture the indigenous flora and fauna.

As part of Anantara’s brandwide initiative, we regularly introduce new technologies to conserve energy on site. Those already in place include LED lighting, timer controls in all outdoor areas, and sensors in villas that automatically switch off air conditioning when doors are open.
