Phuket, Thailand is reopening for quarantine-free international travel from 1 July 2021 for the following travellers:

  • Fully vaccinated adults from low- and medium-risk countries
  • Children under 6 travelling with vaccinated parents
  • Children aged 6 – 18 with vaccinated parents (must undergo a rapid COVID-19 test on arrival)

All travellers must stay at a SHA+ certified hotel or resort for a minimum of 14 days before being allowed to travel on to other parts of Thailand.

Pre-Arrival & Arrival

To travel to Phuket, you will require:

  • Negative PCR test result no longer than 72 hours before departure
  • Proof that you have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19
  • Confirmation of minimum 14-night booking at SHA+ hotel or hotels
  • A Certificate of Entry from your Thai Embassy or Consulate
  • The ThailandPlus alerting app installed on your smartphone
  • COVID-19 health insurance
  • COVID-19 screening, including RT-PCR test, on arrival

Your Stay

During the first 14 days of your stay in Phuket, you will be required to:

  • Stay at a SHA+ certified hotel or resort
  • Undergo an PCR-RT or rapid antigen test on Day 5 of your stay

After 14 days, you will be permitted to travel to other destinations within Thailand. It is possible to stay in Phuket for less than 14 days if you are flying to an international destination.

Before you depart Phuket for other destinations in Thailand, you will be required to show:

Can I travel to Phuket, Thailand?

Yes, from 1 July 2021, fully vaccinated travellers and accompanying children can travel to Phuket without completing mandatory quarantine.

How long must I be vaccinated before I travel to Phuket?

You must be fully vaccinated for at least 14 days prior to departure for Thailand.

Which vaccines are accepted for travel to Phuket?
To travel you must be fully vaccinated with any of the vaccines approved by Thailand’s Food and Drug Administration (FDA) – AstraZeneca, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson, Sinovac Biotech and Sinopharm – or any vaccine approved by the World Health Organization (WHO).
Am I required to stay in the hotel for the full 14 days?

No, you can move between any SHA+ hotels or resorts in Phuket.

Am I allowed to leave my hotel?

Yes, you can travel freely to wherever you want on the island.

Can I travel to other parts of Thailand?

Yes, you can travel to other parts of Thailand after you spend 14 days in Phuket at an SHA+ hotel or resort.

Can I stay in Phuket for less than 14 days?

It is permitted to stay in Phuket for less than 14 days if your departure flight is to an international destination.

Are Anantara’s resorts and residences in Phuket SHA+ certified?

Yes, all of our Phuket resorts and residences are fully SHA+ certified.

Are Anantara team members vaccinated against COVID-19?

Yes, all our team members are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and undergo regular health screening checks.

Who pays for any COVID-19 tests that are required?
You are responsible for the cost of all COVID-19 tests. RT-PCR tests generally cost THB 2,500 – 4,000 per person. Rapid tests cost THB 450 – 1,000 per person.
