Luxury hospitality with a conscience

We support this global initiative that encourages travellers to make a lasting impact on communities by donating to local schools or medical clinics. The Royal Livingstone invites guests to join our resort’s partnership with Linda Community School. The school provides education to around 470 children, mainly orphans, selected by community members. Through this project, we offer herbal infused wellness waters made by local women at our Anantara Spa. Used spa towels and newly purchased linens are also donated to support the womens’ business of producing and selling reusable sanitary towels.

We partner with bottleless water company Vivreau to significantly reduce our plastic use. By placing sealed glass water bottles in all rooms and doing away with plastic water bottles in conferencing facilities, we aim to reduce our carbon footprints as much as possible.

Our on-site garden is grown in partnership with the Ebenezer Child Care Trust orphanage. In the future, the hotel plans to purchase a sustainable and continuous supply of fresh vegetables and herbs from Ebenezer here.

Minor Hotels Zambia partners with local ladies to tie-dye used hotel linen and donate it to the hospitals, clinics, seniors’ homes and orphanages.

The Royal Livingstone also partners with the Sustainable Hospitality Alliance (SHA), a charity dedicated to youth employment, environment action and human rights protection. The programme was designed in consultation with SHA and SOS Children’s Village Livingstone, a non-profit family centre, to bring opportunities and education to deserving youth.
