This unique hotel was part of a once in a lifetime family holiday and it delivered right across the board. A gentle stroll through beautiful grounds to the Vic Falls, passing, Giraffe, Zebra, Impala and monkeys en route, before delicious f7b on ech evening in 3 different settings, including waterside with the Zambezi and it's Hippo's. It's simply an amazing experience and worth every penny.

The hotel is set in lovely grounds with plenty of space to enjoy and relax. Everyone working there was very friendly and provided a great service. We had a lovely ground floor room with giraffes and zebra near by which added to the experience. Would go again.

I’ve wanted to stay here for years and this trip we went first class all the way. We were to stay 2 nights prepaid, but an airline stranded us so we only had one night and by the time we got there we had about 5 hours of daylight. No problem. Not really. My adult kids (5 of us) sat in the lounge for an hour while they checked us in and got us our keys…mind you we were supposed to arrive the night before and were so advised. Yet, it took an hour to get our keys, then go to our rooms. 4 hours of daylight. I approached the desk and was told it would be a few more minutes as they were having trouble checking us in. “Sorry” but not at all sorry. We went to the falls on the trail and entered. Trouble is no one tells you the Zambia side is not the big side. We encountered a cobra along the way on the footpath. Not the hotels fault. I was locked out of my room two times with defective cards or door. Our “butler” was no where to be found the first time; my son called the desk as we were ready to hike to the falls and they put him on ignore and then hung up on him. We got back and I had to go to the desk where I expected my keys to be ready. An indifferent clerk took her sweet time to make new keys and then when I politely expressed my displeasure, she gave me the “sorry, not sorry” reply. My masseuse at the spa did a 5 star 1 hour massage. Be advised to take tip money as if you charge your treatment to the room and leave a tip, your masseuse gets none of the tip. The AC in the room was wonderful but even though I never opened my doors I was bitten all night by mosquitos in the room. The bush camps had less mosquitos. Helicopters now fly up and down the Zambezi non stop until it gets dark. More than one at a time and the noise is very very loud. Going low and in multiples. This is a 5 star hotel…but it has 3 star management and service. Highly overrated. I’ll never return. Be advised to go someplace that cares about their guests. It’s not here
