In harmony with nature at our sustainable resort in Angkor.
At Anantara Angkor Resort, our dedication to sustainability imbues every moment of the guest experience. We are blessed to call such a beautiful part of the world home, wish to preserve if for future generations to enjoy, and invite you to join us in our endeavour.
We are proud to host many CSR initiatives throughout the year, with staff and guests donating goods, funds and time to worthy charities. Activities include blood drives, marathons and tree planting in partnership with local communities.
Dollars for Deeds
An Anantara-wide initiative, we match guest donations dollar for dollar, partnering with Wildlife Alliance Cambodia to protect indigenous wildlife. This includes funding their rapid rescue team and reintroducing endangered species back into the surrounding jungle.
We conserve the use of electricity while ensuring the utmost comfort of our guests. For example, all our lights are LED, many utilise motion sensors, and we put thought behind policies such as assigning rooms all in the same wing during the green season in order to switch off electricity in the other wings.
Water is also conserved, with greywater filtered and used for our beautiful gardens. Guests can contribute by reusing their towels and consenting to bedding being changed every other day.
Elimination of Single-Use Plastics
We continue to march towards the elimination of single-use plastics at the resort, with refillable dispensers used instead of small bottles of toiletries, and alternative materials sourced for in-room amenities such as wood and jute. Plastic water bottles have been replaced with refillable glass bottles. Bamboo and lemongrass straws are used in all our dining outlets.
Our solid waste is carefully sorted, with natural waste sent to the composter and used as fertiliser in our gardens, organic waste used as animal feed, and reusable goods donated to those who can make use of them.
We grow fresh produce on site in the chef’s garden, which not only results in a lower carbon footprint, but also superb flavours for our guests.
