Wind and Solar Power
Sir Bani Yas Island is powered by renewable energy, with 10 wind turbines generating up to 40MW and a solar field producing 14MW. This ensures the island is energy-independent, reducing pollution and reliance on fossil fuels.
From biodegradable straws to refillable bathroom amenities, the island has achieved a 75% reduction in single-use plastics. Regular beach and lagoon clean-ups by our team remove hundreds of kilos of plastic from the environment each year.
Recycling & Waste Management
Waste is carefully segregated for recycling, composting, or reuse. Old villa decking has been upcycled into fences and garden areas, while organic waste is composted to enrich the island’s soil.

Greenhouse & Aeroponics
Our upgraded greenhouse and aeroponic systems produce fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, and herbs for our restaurants, lowering carbon footprint and ensuring farm-to-table freshness. In 2025 alone, over 216kg of produce was harvested onsite.
Monthly mangrove planting days engage local schools and communities in restoring coastal ecosystems. Mangroves protect biodiversity, support fisheries, and act as natural carbon sinks.
Wildlife Conservation
Home to the Arabian Wildlife Park, the island protects endangered species such as Arabian oryx, gazelles, and cheetahs. Conservation programs ensure safe habitats and preserve the delicate balance of this unique ecosystem.
