Resort-Grown Produce

Date Harvest

Anantara Santorini is home to 450 flourishing date palm trees, meticulously maintained and cared for. These dates are frequently harvested for our kitchen's culinary creations and for our guests' enjoyment.

Organic Gardening

The resort features a variety of organically grown fruits and vegetables, including pomegranates, limes, watermelons, cucumbers, and tomatoes. These are cultivated using natural watering methods and compost. The produce is then incorporated into the resort's culinary offerings, ensuring fresh, sustainable ingredients for guests.
Plastic Free Initiative

Plastic Free Initiative

Water-bottling plant - The resort’s on-site water-bottling plant cuts plastic waste by using refillable glass bottles, which are cleaned, filtered, and replenished daily to maintain high quality and freshness.

No to single-use plastics – To minimise environmental impact, the resort uses organic straws, bamboo cutlery, and biodegradable cups and stirrers.

Sustainable in-room amenities – The resort offers eco-friendly in-room amenities, including refillable dispenser bottles for shampoo and conditioner, wooden key cards, and other sustainable products.

Energy Conservation

Energy Conservation

Solar-powered Outdoor Lighting - The retreat harnesses solar energy to power its outdoor lighting, which minimises the resort's carbon footprint but also aligns with its commitment to environmental stewardship and renewable energy practices.

EV Charger – The retreat provides electric vehicle charging stations powered by renewable energy, supporting sustainable transportation and reducing carbon emissions.
Recycling and Waste Reduction

Waste Management

Waste diversion - The resort uses effective waste management strategies and recycling techniques to significantly reduce landfill contributions and maximise waste repurposing.

Wood waste recycling – The resort effectively repurposes wood waste by transforming it into valuable materials such as shelves, doors, and chairs, thus giving discarded wood a new life and reducing waste.

Food composting machine – The resort utilises a food composting machine to convert food waste into nutrient-rich compost, which is then used to enrich the soil in the organic garden. This process enhances soil fertility and supports sustainable gardening practices.

Coffee Pods

Wake up to a hot fresh coffee in your luxurious room and leave your pod to us. By choosing a sustainable supplier, we have created a closed loop for recycling every coffee pod after use.
