Elephant Parade® is a social enterprise hosting the world's largest art exhibition of decorated elephant statues, each a unique work of art created by artists and celebrities. These life-sized baby elephant sculptures are showcased in global cities to promote elephant conservation awareness.

Limited-edition handcrafted replicas and products are made from these artworks, with 20% of the net profits supporting elephant welfare and conservation projects. Our property mascot, 'Smiles Go Miles,' was crafted by self-taught abstract artist Jennie Wood, symbolizing happiness and infectious smiles.

You can support this cause by purchasing smaller elephant versions at The Gallery, with 20% of proceeds benefiting the Golden Triangle Asian Elephant Foundation (GTAEF) in Chiang Rai. Established in 2006, GTAEF has rescued and cared for numerous injured and abused elephants, built research facilities and elephant hospitals, and protected vast natural habitats from deforestation, improving the plight of Asian elephants.

We have water bottle plant onsite. We also collect rainwater, treat and use in our resort. We train our team members and encourage our guests to use water resources efficiently and effectively.

All Anantara properties immerse themselves in local initiatives that give back to the community and the environment, thereby enhancing the social and environmental surroundings of each destination.

The 'Dollars for Deeds' program invites guests to complement their luxury Anantara stay with the opportunity to participate in a range of good deeds that help local communities and the environment. Whether it's rescuing street elephants in Thailand, coral rejuvenation in the Maldives, turtle protection in Sri Lanka, or giving children the chance for a better life in Vietnam, Anantara is dedicated to carrying out a corporate social responsibility program at a grassroots level in each of its locations around the world.

As part of this initiative, an extra one US dollar will be automatically added to your bill. Anantara will then match your donation dollar for dollar. If you prefer not to donate, please let us know upon check-out, and our team will remove it from your bill.

Introducing a distinctly Phuket-centric experience, we proudly unveil the "Kala Massage." Derived from the term for coconut shell, "Kala," this massage technique harnesses the natural heat properties of coconut shells as a therapeutic tool.

Once discarded, coconut shells have found a renewed purpose through recycling, ingeniously repurposed for the Kala Massage. This localization not only offers a unique spa treatment but also stands as a commendable eco-friendly endeavor.

The Kala Massage is especially delightful for individuals with tense muscles, as the soothing warmth emanating from the coconut shell expertly resolves knots and tension. The combination of heated coconut shells and pure virgin coconut oil enhances blood and lymphatic circulation, providing relief from discomfort, alleviating soreness, and minimizing swelling and fluid retention.

Adjacent to Anantara Mai Khao Phuket Villas, within walking distance, lies the Mai Khao Marine Turtle Foundation (MKMTF), a steadfast conservation initiative by Minor Hotels.

As part of the ongoing endeavors of MKMTF, numerous sick or distressed sea turtles are rescued and nursed back to health before being released into their natural habitat. During their temporary stay at MKMTF, guests have the unique opportunity to visit the sanctuary and closely observe these fascinating creatures.

MKMTF is open for public visits from Tuesday to Saturday, from 11 am to 3 pm, and closed on Sunday and Monday.

As one steps into the lobby of Anantara Mai Khao Phuket Villas, a mesmerizing sight awaits – the exquisite lotus flowers strewn across the never-ending lagoons that meander through the resort. This captivating scene leaves a lasting impression on our guests. Beyond their sheer beauty, lotus flowers hold profound significance in Thai culture, standing as one of the most revered symbols within the Buddhist faith.
Rooted in dense mud, lotus plants exhibit a unique rhythm, mirroring the sun's movement. The optimal moment to witness the lotus flowers in full splendor is during the morning, when they unfurl their petals completely. However, as the day progresses, these petals gracefully close, and on overcast days, they might not open at all.

Our dedication to minimizing our carbon impact remains unwavering, and we invite our guests to join us in this endeavor. Starting in the fourth quarter of 2023, we are delighted to introduce aluminum refillable water bottles as a new addition to our guest room amenities. These bottles are designed to be refilled conveniently at four primary water stations strategically placed across the lobby and public spaces.

To assist our back-of-house team members in their efforts to minimize plastic waste, our People and Culture department initiated the "Cloth Bag Challenge." This engaging campaign aims to encourage the reduction of single-use plastics by repurposing used linens from our housekeeping department, giving them new life as cloth bags.

Our staff enthusiastically participated in the campaign, showcasing their creativity by painting these bags and turning them into beautiful, functional items. These bags serve a dual purpose, benefiting both our staff members and finding their way into the hands of children from nearby local schools. This initiative makes a positive contribution to both our internal community and the broader local community.

We collect and sort recyclable waste such as glass bottles, paper & cardboard, metal, plastic, aluminum cans, and used cooking oil. We ensure that those recyclables get properly managed or repurposed by related recycling companies.

In addition to the array of fruits and vegetables flourishing in our herb garden, we are delighted to nurture a contented flock of 24 hens. These hens generously provide us with fresh farm eggs every day. Notably, our layer hens enjoy a cage-free existence, benefiting from open indoor living spaces that prioritize their well-being.

Minor Hotels is raising its standards for chicken welfare across its worldwide supply networks. This initiative aligns with our unwavering commitment to exclusively source cage-free eggs.

Our resort is situated near the Sarasin Bridge, which connects us to a local fishing community. This proximity allows us to exclusively feature locally sourced seafood, including Phuket lobsters and grape seaweed, in our restaurants. Furthermore, we actively contribute to the local market by incorporating seasonal fruits like the famous Phuket pineapple, produce from nearby watermelon farms, and coconut into our offerings.
