Franciscan friar Marcus brings the monastic aspects of our sacred sanctuary to life.

Born in Germany, Marcus moved to Italy in 1989 to study philosophy and theology in Rome before moving to Naples to deepen his studies in theological doctrine. Now, as assistant parish priest at the Convent of San Francesco at Ravello, Marcus is passionate about connecting with the local community, collaborating with the Catholic Scout and Guide Associations, and sharing his wisdom with our guests.

As you explore our beautiful convent, church, cloisters and Monk’s Walk, Marcus is on hand to offer historic context and contemplative insights.
