I normally steer clear of cities. However, the ANANTARA feels like it is in rural Thailand. It is quiet, spacious, has lovely grounds and wondrous views. You can spend days here, without leaving the hotel. It has many excellent dining options and a relaxed atmosphere. The wonderful staff complete the picture. ALWAYS smiling and helpful and friendly. The front service and room cleanliness are good, the breakfast service is also good, and the food is delicious. The in-room dining was a little disappointing, but I was satisfied. Brio provided well-done instead of medium for the meat I ordered, and while I wouldn't have minded if a trainee or training staff member served it with a minimal apology, as a customer, I was very displeased. My girlfriend told me not to tell the staff, so I just came, but I don't think this is the kind of service for a 5-star restaurant.
