Anantara Iko Mauritius Announces Appointment of New General Manager

Anantara Iko Mauritius Resort & Villas (anantara.com/en/iko-mauritius) announces the appointment of its new General Manager, Pascal Bertrand, who brings over 35 years of  luxury hospitality experience from around the globe to take the hotel to new heights.

He joins the Mauritius property, which opened in late 2019, to take it forward with his visionary leadership, which he has gained working with international brands in numerous regions.

French national Pascal got a taste for the hotelier life when he started his career in Food & Beverage, as Sous-Chef for Eleven Maple Street Restaurant in Florida. He continued his career in F&B by joining The Ritz Carlton in Atlanta as Assistant Banqueting Manager, followed by The Ritz Carlton Cancun and The Ritz Carlton in Florida.

With qualifications in Hotel Asset Management and Real Estate from Cornell University, Pascal progressed through the ranks of hotel operations before taking his first General Manager position at the Legends Hotel Mauritius, in 2010.

“I’ve always had great admiration for the Anantara brand so I’m truly honoured to step into this exciting role. Anantara represents a unique proposition worldwide and I look forward to supporting the successful development of this fantastic property.” He adds, “Now, with my broader experience from different aspects of the business, I’m excited to work with the team here at Anantara Iko Mauritius Resort & Villas to lead the property into its next phase as an award-winning resort in the amazing location of the South East coast of Mauritius.”

Anantara Iko Mauritius Resort & Villas features 164 guest rooms and suites and will soon launch an additional eight luxury pool villas – two with two bedrooms and six with four bedrooms. Facilities at the resort include Sea.Fire.Salt – a specialty grill and seafood restaurant with courtyard and beach dining, an all-day dining restaurant, private dining with a wine cellar, a healthy wellness-focused cafe, two bars – one by the poolside and one facing the beach, a 30-metre ozone-based swimming pool, a gym, a signature Anantara Spa and a kids’ club.
