About one hour further south hikers will find an array of trails suitable for all levels in the beautiful Wicklow Mountains. If you only have a day, we recommend the Spinc Loop in Glendalough or, weather conditions-allowing, the more challenging hike up Lugnaquilla – Ireland’s fourth-highest peak.

Hiking the Amalfi Coast – Italy

It’s little surprise that the Amalfi Coast – one of the world’s most iconic destinations – is home to some extraordinarily hiking trails. One of our favourites is the Valle dei Mulini (Valley of the Mills) trail which, thanks to its relatively short 6 km length, is suitable for families and all levels of fitness while still offering some spectacular views. The trail, which starts in Amalfi town, is rich in history and natural beauty, taking you past paper mills, waterfalls and lemon groves before ending at Valle Delle Ferriere National Park. This is not a difficult hike but good shoes, snacks and plenty of water are recommended.

Where to stay: An iconic landmark in one of the most captivating destinations in the world, Anantara Convento di Amalfi Grand Hotel brings authentic luxury to a 13th-century Capuchin convent. With a dramatic cliffside location, delectable dining from renowned Chef Claudio Lanuto, and an Anantara Spa, a stay at this iconic hotel will elevate your Amalfi escape even further.
