THE EXPERIENCE

One of the most important lessons to learn in life is that personal happiness ultimately comes from within. Yet achieving this state requires much more than simply the right attitude, or a decision to ‘look on the bright side’ of things. Rather, it is about recognising that happiness is a skill which can be learned and practised.

Our aim with this yoga and meditation course is to include the mechanics of mindful breathing, stretching, and related skills – but to then go beyond these techniques, toward a more holistic experience of personal wellbeing. By helping you find a true balance of mind, body, and spirit, our instructor will bring a more peaceful and contented life within your reach. 

This path toward self-actualisation requires one more key insight, which is the idea that you don’t have a body; you are a body.

By learning to care for that body well, continually heightening your awareness of its five senses, and improving your ability to detach from particular thoughts and emotions, you can live more fully in the present moment, every minute of every day. 

Yoga can improve bodily health, even as it teaches detachment and equanimity. Meditation can train you to notice thoughts and feelings as they arise, and to explore their contours dispassionately, but then to let them go a moment later, rather than letting them control you.

These are the skills that enable inner peace and contentment, even amid hardship. The methods you learn here will help you get started on that path – or even move further along, if your learning has already begun elsewhere. 

Although the journey toward genuine wellbeing is a long one, every step forward is both important and immensely enjoyable. Each yoga and meditation session at our resort will put you in better control of your body and mind, helping you master the most valuable skill of all: Living a rich and fulfilling life.
