FIERY SENSATION

Passion manifests at an early age, as demonstrated by Thai chef Wirat Junpratuse, who first entered the world of hospitality at the tender age of 19. Starting his culinary journey as a steward, he quickly showed an natural affinity for Asian cuisine. Fascinated by his native culinary culture and the versatility that it presents, Chef Wirat decided to specialise in Thai cuisine. Having worked at Anantara resorts in Hua Hin, Koh Samui and Phuket he has spent time immersed in Anantara culinary tradition, perfecting the art of introducing authentic native flavours to contemporary travellers. With 17 years of experience in Thai cooking, Chef Wirat joined Anantara Kalutara in 2019. Thai cuisine has been gaining popularity in Sri Lanka and Chef Wirat hopes to create nothing less than a gastronomic extravaganza for every guest, opening a gateway to the rich culinary traditions of Thailand using locally sourced ingredients.
