The cleanup day was joined by 100 Anantara staff members who cleaned temples at the site and is part of the TAT’s recovery campaign called ‘Beautiful Thailand’. The aim of the campaign is to show the world that despite the recent floods Thailand’s tourism sector is still readily welcoming tourists for the upcoming holiday season.
Although the flood mainly affected provinces in the Central Region, it had minor impact on tourist attractions throughout Thailand. Popular destinations in the North; such as, Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai, in the South; such as, Phuket and Krabi; and even in the Central Region; such as, Hua Hin were not affected. Central Bangkok also remained dry as did the main international airport - Suvarnabhumi.
