CEO Message

Welcome to the Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas CSR page.

The International Ecotourism Society defines ‘Ecotourism’ as: ‘Responsible travel to natural areas that conserve the environment and improve the well-being of local people,’ and ever since our first resort opened in the royal Thai seaside town of Hua Hin we have strived to ensure that our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) equates to sustainable tourism operations by integrating social and ecological responsibility into our core business operations.

Our commitment to ethical and environmentally friendly practices commences at the pre-opening stage of all of our resorts. We are continuously introducing innovative technological measures that contribute to the preservation of the surroundings in order to minimize the impact our business activities have on the environment. We are actively engaged in supporting all the communities we are located in, which requires action from our Directors, Shareholders, Management Team, associates, guests and partners on a continual daily basis.

In terms of the experiences that we give our guests and the activities that are based around the indigenous surroundings of each destination, it is hard for our guests not to be involved. The popularity of activities that we offer in the Maldives such as coral planting to rejuvenate the surrounding reefs or the Elephant conservation in Chiang Rai or English teaching at local orphanages, mangrove planting and dugong spotting in Si Kao is enough evidence to show that our guests care. It’s also these unique experiences that not only give our guests a great holiday experience but they also leave knowing that they have given back something to the environment and local community.
